That record speaks for itself, can we afford to keep him. And Kone is a similar case.

Like I said, he effectively has had and is continuing to have an extended injury-free pre-season where he will hopefully become fitter and stronger than ever. Like I said, onward and upward.

Why would we get rid. The question for other teams would be 'can we take a risk a him?'. He has two years left on his contract here and going by what Martinez has said, he will get plenty of chances this year to prove his worth..

One never knows, a few games and he may succumb again, his history hardly gives one confidence that he can put in a long playing spell. Was he not frequently injured at Man U?

He had that recurring thigh/groin thing that was his main injury with us. Martinez said last year that that was gone. His main problem at Man U was he would play 1 or 2 games and then miss the next 4 or 5 due to being 5th choice.

...in his book Ferguson says he liked Gibson because he gave United something different - goals from outside the box. Funny that at United I noticed he had a habit of shooting on sight but he was clearly acting on order. I do agree with the above point that the reason he missed lots of games at United was because he didn't get picked. He's been a class act for us (when fit) and I would prefer to keep our best players, especially when we are challenging on a number of fronts.

The most important game in football is always the next one. I think Gibson is a good player who will improve the team. Didn't we only lose about two games in which he played in his first season with us?
A good player is Gibbo the only problem being we never see him play.
