Very similar role and quality player to Barry, I think Gibson may be a slightly better passer but Barry is really excellent defensively as he is great reader of the game and breaks up play well. Both really good players; both could be / could have been great players if they were better physically - with pace and injures - this is why McCarthy will turn out to be better than both of them IMO.

I know its just a small thing but Gibbo doesnt seem as connected to the club as other members of the squad. His twitter is full of nonsense and he barely mentions the club.

I noticed over the hols a tweet from Aguero saying happy new year and showing him working out and basically giving a message to the fans that he is busting his balls to get back. On the flip side Gibbo is tweeting about some random crap and having "banter". I wouldnt be the first to question his general attitude, even if I probably read to much into all that.

As an Irish Everton fan I want him more than most to fulfill that potential, as you cannot train to be as good a passer as he can be, thats a natural ability.
