Danny Murphy the Commentator

Did any of you actually read my initial post?

I said that Everton are a brilliant club and I hope that Tierney makes the trip south as it'll benefit himself and it'll benefit the Scottish national team.

Oh, I have never sampled a single drug in my life. :)

Must confess I tend to zone out when Dan the Man's on commentary but I'm sure that yesterday, when the other commentator said the last time we saw this centre-half he was getting torn apart at Anfield, Murphy replied that he wouldn't hold that against him as virtually every centre-half got torn apart at Anfield last season. I spluttered into my coffee and turned the volume down even further.

He's right though. If you include Van Dijk and Lovren.

People are dying through poverty, lack of water, democide, and people here are moaning about a football commentator.

Yes. I'm the strange one.

And they say that the net is full of haters. ;)

Personally I hate him because he advocated on live tv for players to deliberately kick my clubs players. He urged them to show passion and "leave something on them" A former professional player and paid pundit pleaded on live tv for players to deliberately hurt and injure the opposition just to stop them from playing Think about that for a minute. The fact that in the coming weeks a number of potential season/career ending tackles on our players went unpunished, and Murphy was still beating the same drum is enough for me to think he's utter scum.

As for people moaning about a football commentator. You obviously aren't a real fan and don't understand football or it's culture. Perhaps you should try another sport.

Let me get this straight, you use the word "hate" and "scum" in the same sentence and you think this is normal behaviour for a reasonable human being? Mate, the guy isn't a mass murderer, a Nazi or a paedophile. He's a ex football player. Get things into perspective, K?

Nah. I I've perused quite enough in this place to comfortable claim that I know quite a lot about football, thanks. :)

The difference between myself and the general forum fanatic is that I'm not a keyboard warrior. Have a pleasant evening and a lovely tomorrow. :)

Do we actually need a co-commentator ? Gerald Sinstadt , Brian Moore , Barry Davies , John Motson etc didn't need one . Add the fact that most of them seem to be ex-kopite bells , too .

Simple answer.....No.

It would not be so bad if the “co-commentator” did what he was actually supposed to do.

i.e. add a bit of colour to the proceedings when asked by the actual commentator.

Somewhere along the line the term “co” in this context has changed from being a shorthand word for “colour” and become another way of saying “joint” commentator.

Instead they prattle on relentlessly.....speaking even when there is nowt worth saying.

They have turned TV commentary into radio commentary.

On the radio the commentator needs to talk incessantly.

But Wolstenholme, Moore, Motty etc. knew enough to let the pictures tell the tale and often went twenty or thirty seconds withour uttering a word.

And the coverage was so much more pleasant without the barroom bore beside them droning on and on and on and on.....like Murphy, Neville and my own paricular irritant, Hoddle.

Murphy is absolutely dire I can't for the life of me see what you see in the deluded bellend he offers absoutely nothing insight wise and is a giant tedious bore.

Compare and contrast: Danny Murphy v Kevin Kilbane.

Our former player demonstrates each game how a match analyst should interact with the commentator.
The difference was amazing,Kilbane talking about changes in formation, tactics, movement compared to Spud, with his waffle
Commentator-so and so has ran x amount of km during this game
Spud-we ran at liberboolfootballklub
Commentator-the ball moved in flight there
Spud-we had balls at liberpoolfootballklub
Waffle,waffle,waffle

You’re not a keyboard warrior but you’re on a forum you have no attachment to, telling people they don’t have a right to complain about something because they’re not starving/dying and there’s Nazis and Paedos in the world?

You are the very definition of the keyboard warrior, and I suggest you see if the Daily Mail has an online forum as that would be a place better suited to your delusions.

I think the word is out now about Murphy. His bosses surely cant have failed to notice the level of criticism against him this WC.
