Classic conundrum for TJV - their guy in the lead group is good, but prob not good enough to win against that level of opposition.
Them not riding might indicate Wout is on a bad day - I'll guess we'll see very shortly (his strava yesterday was titled 'Born Ready' so I doubt he's ill).

Dont. Its not fun (unlike riding Flanders), it's lonely and endless and its a long walk if your bike breaks down (a very real possibility).
I wonder why Pog isnt participating. Hes destroying everybody on the cobbles. He'd win solo.
It's not my idea of fun tbh. Give me a nice mountain any day.

I rode the cyclotouriste event a couple of times in the 1980s.
One year it was fine, the other it rained.
The 240 km route took us (reasonably fit club riders and racers) over 9 hours.
Went over most of the famous paves, not the Arenberg though, it's a protected monument.
I remember we used cyclo cross tubs, good on the cobbles but a bit slow on the tarmac.
