Didn't renshaw get dq'd for a head butt in a sprint a few years ago?
Yes, for continuous headbutting. I suppose he thought he was doing Keirin, you can do that there.
But Cavendish should have already seen multiple DQ's; he's one of those riders like Bouhanni. Or if we go back a bit Djamolodine Abdoujaparov riders like that.
One of the many examples:
No punishment once so ever for him. He always gets away or gets a small punishment that makes no difference to the end result. He effectively knocked Veelers out of the Tour there, he rode on for a couple of days but his injuries were to severe.
That being said Cavendish' previous behaviour is irrelevant to this incident. Sagan is no choirboy himself. You can read back in this topic; I am quite critical of him also.
I agree with this. They could have docked him points or whatever; but taking the most interesting rider out of the TdF is a crime. He always make the race exciting; I wonder who pressured the jury to take him out of the race (first he got a sanction; then the DQ). I'm guessing it has something to do with the French being chauvinist again. Démarre is leading the green jersey; and they know that if Sagan stays in the race that Démarre will lose the green jersey for certain. So they did what they normally do; help the French rider and kick out Sagan. It's like the combative rider award; a joke, if there is a break away and there is a French man amongst the break he always gets the award unless one of the others displayed supernatural performances. And Démare should also have seen DQ... Ffs.
One of the most important rivals of Sagan.
And off course UCI useless as always; because UCI rules don't allow appeal.
Having said all this I hope Cavendish makes a quick recovery nobody deserves to go out of the Tour injured.
Ridiculous decision.
