Quintana had a poor race for me, gaining most of his time after the crash to Blockhaus and the poo stop before the Umbrail. Froome must be delighted.
I think he thought he could win the Giro on 80 percent or something. He didn't look like himself; when he attacked he didn't go far. He wasn't even the strongest in the mountains; that was Pinot - who like always obviously choked when he had something to win. Oh well he can only learn from it.
The Dauphiné was great fun to watch. Fuglsang finally wins a big race; Porte will be angry. Froome doesn't look as good this year; so the Tour will be more interesting. If I am not mistaken in the years that he's won the Tour; he'd always won the Dauphiné.
It's been a cracking race, and dare I say significantly more entertaining than the Giro. Hopefully the Tour follows suit. I think Froome is hoping to win both Tour and Vuelta this year, but he's clearly off the pace. I suppose with the Tour though you don't tend to get many clear markers early on so he just needs to keep out of trouble and work on his form as there aren't any big time trials to worry about.
He's had a very weak year so far; still no win. I think the team SKY inquiry has effect him. He still has time to work on his form; and it's better to have a bit of margin to improve but still it's very unlike him atm.
