Sad that for Martin, looked bad.

That's two stages that Cavendish has kinda ballsed up now. Are we seeing the end of him as a serious contender in the sprints?
Looks like he's peaked - reckon he can still win if things go his way, but we've seen the last of the man who could just lay down the law and win from a bad position.

It's a strange one. Kittel you can understand as he's a young guy, but Greipel is older than Cav, yet has performed really well this year. Of course, Cavendish has history with flopping a few times early on in Tours before coming back to bag a bundle of stage wins, so hopefully he'll do the same, although I'm not sure how many pure sprint stages remain.

On the positive side, super ride by Stybar today.

Superb stuff. Great to see Cavendish back on the top step of the podium. On a side note, Sagan has had a ridiculous number of 2nd place finishes in the tour. I think he's been 2nd something like 20 times in stages to go with his 4 wins.

*correction, he's been on the podium 19 times. Considering he's only been riding the race for three and a bit years that's quite remarkable.

Despite this, and despite all his previous Tour green jerseys - I just can't bring myself to rate him for some irrational reason. o_O

Bit of a nearly man isn't he? He burst onto the scene looking as though he'd sweep all before him, but hasn't really done that yet. He's yet to achieve a break through in the classics and despite his consistency at GT level isn't a heavy duty stage winner. He's just incredibly consistent.

That's a fair assessment, that. Don't get why he's bulled up so much by Liggett & co - for being a born runner-up?

Think Sagan is in great form, it has just coincided with doing donkey work for Contador, the work he done on the cobble stage alone was fantastic.

Nibali is a bust huh? I think it's too early to tell, but I think he will play second fiddle to the climbers in the mountains.

Sagan is a pure cycling freak of nature. He just freelances off other groups doing work.
