I loved the forum, had some great chats on there but it was increasingly attracting the same sort of absolute weirdos who already dominate social media and who can ruin forums unless there is a zero tolerance attitude against them. The mods don't deserve the grief that they cause and will keep coming back to cause.

Would be a crying shame if folk can't exchange info on climate change and potential solutions, cost of living advice, multitudes of various government form or benefits advice and many other topics because a few narrow minded idiots insist on being transphobic or racist. Thats a weak defeat to those who don't deserve victory.

Just remove the report function from that forum and if the mods care to dip in and police it they can. I will happily take on that role.

I'd like to see it back, obviously, but maybe with a stricter requirement for entry than several posts elsewhere.
Maybe a player valuation or trophy threshold that would mean being an active member of the forum for a decent while before you out yourself as a racist incel

If the mods want to close the C.A. forum because it causes them too much grief, then fine. I'd understand that and support their decision. They are the guys who are affected the most.

I don't understand why regular posters want it closed, though. If you don't like it, don't read it! It's easy to avoid.

If the mods are happy to start it up again, then lets go! I'm sure they have ideas to improve it if it gets going again. I've missed it so have voted yes to bring it back!

I would be happy for it to be closed because it was no longer a forum for debate, it was a forum where some people (who boasted that they were the ones of an independent mind) spent nearly all of their time regurgitating everything they'd read or heard somewhere else.

I mean this has always been the way, but it got shut, so quite clearly isn't as simple as that.

I say keep it closed and instead just allow these topics in Ale House and if posters can’t be reasonable then ban them. Give the mods and @the sniderman full slaughter abilities to weed out our enemies.
