Fascinating to see long time grifter dave rubin interview a fundamentalist of Judaism and be told he should hope his kids are straight and it would be ideal if he was married to a woman not a man. Watching rubin struggle to meet blatant homophobia but not alienate his right wing audience is quite the social experiment

No, he’s not against compelled speech - specifically targeting a plus size model and deadnaming / being unnecessarily cruel to Elliot Page is just him being an weird, rude [Poor language removed]
you`re wrong. Peterson was minding his own business as a professor, lecturer and clinical psychologist until he was forced to either comply with the compelled speech directive in Canada or speak up and fight against it.

How do you mind your own business as a lecturer?
its an economic type of set up. first you get tenure at a uni or somewhere by qualifying with the qualifications needed to be able to fill that position. having done that, the uni/college trustees will ask you to fulfil the position responsibilities ie. `lecturing`. a fee is then paid to the `lecturer` for `lecturing`. its a kind of job or profession that enables for the payment for things. its like some old man saying `stop interfering with those windows` what that old man wasn`t aware of was the lady cleaning the windows was being paid to do it, it was their `job` and being qualified to clean the windows and earning money doing it they could then go off and buy something they wanted.

How long do you think it will be before AI can write things that aren't just strings of words that don't make sense or have any actual coherent point to them?

did you look at the moronic wind-up of a post i was replying to?

Well no, he’s consistently been incredibly cruel towards trans people, expressed immensely problematic views on toxic masculinity and gender roles, and evidently has been unnecessarily abusive towards people. Who and what compelled him to deadname and abuse Elliot Page or to call Yumi Nu “not beautiful”? No one.

When you say “compelled speech” what on Earth do you mean dude? Are you saying we should be annoyed because we can’t just use slurs to people anymore, is that it?

Also let me guess, are you also a fan of Shapiro and Andrew Tate?

first of all don`t let your bias/presumptions get in the way. i`m not a fan of Tate or Shapiro, understand this as `a broken clock is right twice a day`. i had to look up deadname because i`d never heard of it before. also, you use a lot of hip buzz words but you`ve never heard of compelled speech! very strange, but hey carry on policing language, i`m sure it`ll end well.

I mean, none of the words I just used are buzzwords so that’s a weird take.

You talk about policing language, but why do you deliberately ignore the main point which is the undeniable fact that him posting targeted abuse to Yumi Nu, and Eliot Page is undeniably pathetic, cruel and out of order. Evidently no one is policing his speech seen as he has numerous platforms from which he is allowed to spout his gross hate filled nonsense, the only reason he got banned on Twitter was because he had directly targeted one specific trans person and sent them an abusive message.

I hate all of this “free speech means free speech” crap, the people who whine about it are always doing that whining LITERALLY on social media, or even news platforms. Obviously these people have the right to be cruel, callous bigoted pricks, but society also has a right to respond to those backwards bigoted toxic views. If society by and large feels those views aren’t palatable, then they get their job opportunities limited as a result or “cancelled” as Peterson and his pack of bellends would say.

Here’s a straight up question, let’s say for example a video of a person went viral where this person was being incredibly racist / homophobic / misogynistic. Do you feel that person should face consequences for their actions? If you were their employer would you keep them in their job?

no buzzwords??? really? toxic masculinity, deadname. where do you learn this pap? so....... conveniently for me i haven`t seen those clips/posts by Peterson. i don`t condone violence/hatred but i`ll defend your right to abuse and call me whatever derogatory names you wish and still be able to pay your bills. i like your use of language in bold, it seems you are long way down the road of reactionary modernism which is a very slippery slope

are you prepared to debate this properly? in effect you are asking what could be construed as a moot point so broadening the dialogue would be essential. you come across as well meaning but paving the road to hell and not aware of what you are actually facilitating and i`m not sure that a footy forum is the place for this sort of stuff. if you think it is the place then ok, we will carry on

Buzzwords are the worst
the thing about you Liberal Marxist neo-Totalitarians is that if anyone questions your ideology you immediately label them `far right` as a shut down tactic

Buzzwords are the worst
HIP Jebus, ok? try and keep your focus on the word hip. comprendy? savvy? i don`t really mind schooling you @Jebus_lives but it gets kind of boring after a bit
marxist= 19 century - not hip.
liberal = old as the hills -not hip.
totalitarian = old as the hills- not hip.
--------------------------------------------
deadname=hip.
toxic masculinity = hip
haters gonna hate = not sure how recent but quite apt in this context whadaya say @Jebus_lives

You can’t call deadnaming and toxic masculinity buzzwords and then throw out terms like reactionary modernism. Also Saying someone can be as bigoted and derogatory as they like with impunity is a bit of a wild take.

Yeah, I probably am quite reactionary. My entire adult life has been lived under consecutive Tory governments which I have watched look out for their rich cronies while driving the working class further and further into poverty, highlighted by the fact in 2009 there were an estimated 25,000 people living in the UK who needed to use food banks, and that number is now 2,500,000. so forgive me for actually reading Marx and Engel’s work and making up my mind that the society they envisioned sounds a damn sight better than the brutality that the free market has inflicted on the working class across the globe.
