It’s a difficult subject. You’d argue the victim faces a lifetime of trauma whilst it would seem the perpetrator is now walking free.

Someone I know from a small town, killed someone in a fight then a year or so later was released and out on town drinking and going about their day to day. The family of the deceased were obviously very upset about this and personally thought the guy was acting extremely disrespectfully.

Sure the victim of the athlete has been reminded of some traumatic experiences as well and think the guy should have stepped down due to the publicity.

I believe in forgiveness of course, but for many people, they can’t simply rejoin society as though nothing happened.
For sure. It's a difficult one, on both sides. All I'd say is that I suppose we don't always know what's going on for the other person. My partner's dad is over from SA at the moment. He's a high profile academic who outwardly seems to have it all together, but he also has bipolar and is struggling hugely on this trip. We don't always know what's going on inside someone's head, even if they appear outwardly to be doing alright.

I work for a homeless charity Bruce and one project we run is a prison resettlement programme. I was always aware of stigma and prejudice toward prison leavers but since I’ve been in the role I have now I never realised how bad it was, it’s akin to the old days of no blacks, no Irish, no dogs.
It is hard mate. Ideally you would hope both the victim/s and the perpetrators get the help they need to move on, but that's seldom the case.

I do this out of curiosity on Instagram. Vast majority are very obvious shadow/ bot accounts. That’s what’s fanning the flames of all this [Poor language removed] that’s happening now. Russia will be loving it.

Best thing for humanity is to burn the internet.
Saddest thing for me is seeing people who you thought were good, who were your friends, post really questionable stuff, and it's all documented and saved on the internet forever for everyone to see. Vaulted if you will. It's actually really troubled me this weekend, Brexit was the same. I go back to a point I've made a few times on here, that there is genuinely a silent majority of people who deep down feel the same way as these right wing rioters, they're just waiting for the chance to post that AI lion on their facebook.

Scary thing its still really in its infancy. It will go down as the best and worst invention ever on this planet. Best for its potential. Worst because human beings are in the main morons.
What a weapon it is now. Better than any atomic bomb.

we’ll see. Maybe the next generations will see it all as largely nonsensical as it’s flooded with gibberish.

Why spend money on bombs when you can get a society to destroy itself. It's proving to be a very useful tool for the active measures type model.
