Current Affairs Culture wars & The rise of grifting

Pull back from what Davey? I posted a message from Jonesy bigging up Nicola "WhatsApp" Sturgeon and then his fan club wet their panties.

As for the Emir Tate comaparison we'd need to get some gas and a light for that to work. Emir championed the extremes, I'm calling them out.

But as you suggest, they'll move from defending Jonesy to sex traffickers next, the absolute horrors!

Yes, this is exactly what happened mate.

You really showed us.

You've not answered my question sir.
The answer might be the same.

Even Royal Rumble has him muted on that Twitter.

It is almost like people don't like his grift.

Didn't agree with his virtuous Corbyn stance.

I think women should have their own spaces and saying so doesn't make you transphobic as he'd try and paint them.

Same with that QT episode and/or people of the UK voting Brexit because they might have had worries about border control and immigration. Yes, these sorts were and are being manipulated by the right but he feeds into their narrative.

He pisses everyone off because he is as might be said on here, a click "farmer".

He does not bring people together and no doubt makes edgy comments to stir things, like Tate, Hopkins, Grimes et al.

I am not sure that the UK could cope with another term of Tory rule, or what the country would look like on the other side of this. He, like some others who had put their hopes into Corbyn, still feel betrayed that he lost any hope of power and seem set on giving the tories whatever chances they can to stay in.

It all shows his character and motives, IMO.

He stinks.

It's a bit like the demise of Emir in here. Just kept going with that mad line of argument about Andrew Tate despite the obviousness of how mad his stance was.

Pull back, there's still time. Next thing you know it'll be defending sex traffickers.
Common trait of the likes of Tommy Robinson and his ilk to accuse people of sexual offences and paedophilia.
Wouldn't take that Davey!

Not sure what you're describing meets the definition tbh.

The left notoriously eats itself. It's what happens when the base is a coalition of interest groups all pulling in different directions. The second they come into power, they all start clamoring for Mummy to say she loves them best, and back it up with action.

The one virtue of the right is that they have figured out they all must hang together, or hang separately.

I was thinking to myself as I read, "Is this what happens when Dave isn't around?"

One interesting result of speech becoming more democratic in the age of the Internet is that speech has become hate-filled. Stuff that once was confined to fringe newspapers and magazines with very little circulation has gone mainstream. People were more civil when there were gatekeepers on who receives a platform, rather than algorithms promoting the most contentious stuff.

It doesn't necessarily follow that we should start shutting things down, but we do need to talk about how we get back to civil discourse rather than eight year-olds contradicting one another in a schoolyard. I'm a little tired of living in the Monty Python argument sketch.
Tactical advantage, not virtue. They pull in the same direction because lack morals and can be fluid with their position to obtain unity.

Ahhh I get what the problem is here. You don’t really know what a grifter is.
