Starting from a normal base I agree that you could expect these sort of historic swings, given what has gone on. But starting from the 2019 election position? Be serious.

Don’t totally disagree but given the context of what has happened and is happening, (the opposition in the last election, Brexit, cost of living etc) personally still think that if labour can’t secure a majority it should be seen as a failure and a bleak outlook for the future.

Under Starmer, Lab have gone from abject, humiliating defeat to odds on favourites to win the next election (it's actually odds on for a majority but obv that means nothing at the moment).
Anyone forecasting that back in 2019 would have been pitied. If you know of any greater turnaround in one election cycle then post it up as it would be an interesting thing to learn about.

You have to appreciate what a potentially generational victory 2019 could have been for the Tories - threat from the right completely defused and buried (UKIP siphoned 4 million votes in 2015), landslide victory with labour massacred and in complete disarray - people seriously questioning if the labour was even a viable party going forward.

But nah Starmer sounds a bit boring and isn't doing a great job lol.
