If you dont believe gender dysphoria isn't a mental illness then you don't really understand what mental illness actually is my friend. It also shows a level of prejudice because by extension you/society refuse to call it that because it has negative connotations and you're scared of being labelled a transphobe or offending someone - why is society still in the dark ages when it comes to our understanding and acceptance of mental illness, mental health etc ?

I care about society and the good of man and how we bring up our future generations. No one can tell me our society is improving we're regressing pal.

It doesn't matter what you or I believe is or isn't a mental illness because we have no relevant expertise in the field. Those that do, do not classify gender dysphoria as a mental illness. Your initial argument was that it is classified as a mental illness. It isn't. You are not, to my knowledge, a doctor of clinical psychology. Therefore, you're no more qualified to assess what is or isn't a mental illness than you are to put a man on the moon.

As to your last two sentences. You don't care about society and the good of mankind. You care about never being forced to ask yourself if what you personally believe is supported by evidence. Hence your last sentence.

The Tories are a shambles at this point but lets not overlook fascist ideology such as allowing 16 year old kids to start having sex changes when they aint old enough to vote in an election or drink a beer yet can make life changing decisions with no life experience.

The concern about transgenders invading women's spaces and offending would seem to be baseless. Stats from countries where legislation is already in place - Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark - report no instances.
Of course, blokes could obtain access under false pretences and committ assaults but that could happen anyway, and rather suggests we should be addressing male behaviour in general towards females in our society instead of getting exercised about the small number of transgenders that we have.

I agree 100% however there are many in the medical community who do argue that it should be classified as such. You can debate to the cows come home why it hasn't been labelled a mental illness but I would argue a key reason is because being trans means you're in the LGBTQ unbrella so to label gender dysphoria as such means you have to also label homosexuality the same yet gender dysphoria and homosexuality are completely different things hence why I dont believe they should be lumped in the same social "group".

It isn't long enough and this legislation is trying to make the process even quicker for younger people.

So why with gender dysphoria which is still a mental health illness do we claim that gender reassignment is the silver bullet to solving the whole issue when it isn't? Plenty of fully transitioned trans people still suffer from mental illness/depression and many self harm/attempt suicide at a disproportionate level.

Trans people are not being helped efficiently enough but the virtue signalling politicians such as those in Scotland dont care about that they just want guaranteed LGBTQ votes and stuff the long term help for these people which really saddens me.

Well, I wouldn't have to spend hours. I'd just say to myself "I'll go to the book shelf and pull down 'The Origin of Species'" because that's a scientific study that gives evidence and explains it's hypothesis. If said fundamentalist wasn't interested in evidence then cool, I'll walk away and leave them to be ignorant and incurious.

I'm not asking you to go out of your way. Merely show me the evidence that convinced you that the medical establishment have decided to no longer classify gender dysphoria as a mental illness to avoid going back to classifying homosexuality as one. It's not baseless as a matter of fact nor a matter or common sense - male sex offenders will and have exploited transgender identity to enable sexual assaults and rapes, there are over 100 reports worldwide.

You could (fairly) argue that these are not 'real' TG people, it's the [Poor language removed] of humanity indulging their depravity any which way they can. The majority of TG people want to just quietly get on with their lives. But equally I don't see how you can dismiss women who aren't very happy about this given the gigantic asymmetry that exists in violence between the sexes.
