I recall this now. I remember reading a long twitter thread (perhaps posted by you?) about Monroe and all the weird inconsistencies in their story.
 
We don't agree on that. That statement is incorrect.

The DFE settled a case, brought on Judicial review, because they (I presume accepted) hadn't supported the couple against the local authority and refused to intervene in the case.

The accusation against them wasn't a part of the JD, the legality of the guidance and the actions of the LA and DFE were in question.
I know that because i read the same bit when i googled the case.

Something felt off about them from the start. The story was just full of decisions no rational person would ever make. Like, consistently.
