Just out of interest mate if you decided that you thought it had peaked and wanted to get out how quickly could you do that and how easy would that be?
In the UK Buying and selling is easy on coinbase pro (don't be put off by the 'pro' bit),it's all about fees and convenience,it costs about 30p to sell £100 worth of bitcoin,it takes about 3-4 hrs to get back to my current account due to crazy Banking times.

like thomas cook, carillion, flybe (coming soon) not to mention the banks that would have gone bust if they werent bailed out.
if you dont want risk, halifax do a nice 0.01% cash isa!
dont invest what you arent prepared to lose, that goes for all types of investments, theres no free lunch or get rich quick scheme!
Rule one of investments. Spread your money about. Never lump all in on one. Ideally be in on 10-20 stocks, that way you limit your risks.

Its not like Milliseconds in FX...but the entire process of selling the crypto to converting to a currency + the payment into your 'e-wallet' and then transfer to your personal bank account...

A few minutes with the reputable liquid exchanges.

Just to point out that you don’t need to buy actual cryptocurrency in order to speculate on the price. Pretty much all the FX brokers offer CFDs. Agree with the point that your edge is likely to be on longer term trades - day trading BTC etc very likely to end in loss due to volatility and spreads. Having said that, I think it’s very tradable on the weekly/monthly chart. Not for beginners tho.

i dont sell any of my bitcoin,i use it as a savings account,
iv been buying a little every week or so since 2016 put it on my hardware wallet.
im looking at another 8-10 years then retiring.
i also have a well balanced stocks and shares isa and invested in that also for the last 10 year or so,
but the performance of my bitcoin blows all my traditional assets out the water, including some of the big tech shares i got lucky with!

Good to hear you have a bit of a balanced portfolio and glad it's working out for you so far.

I'm sure you're onto it already but remember that there is always the chance that 8-10 years could be longer than the BTC boom lasts - so you should have a plan for when you are going to take (at least some) profits and get your winnings out. Mind the tulips! ;)

What's everybody's opinion on halving of bitcoin? Do you think it'll see the price rise? Or do you think people have already invested in anticipation?

whats happened previously is theres been a big run up to the halving,
the price has dropped after it short term then risen again as scarcity sets in,i expect the same to happen again.
iam guessing but i expect all time highs by may, then to drop off for a bit.
i dont think its priced in because the mainstream media havent got hold of it yet, when that happens expect fomo like late 2018!

Yeah. That's what I'm feeling but you never know I guess

Not cryptocurrencies this, but from my limited knowledge on exchange rates, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to buy some Euros today on the Forex market, and then sell them again when the pound probably falls in the coming days to make a quick profit.

The fees on your normal exchanges places are too high, but on the Forex market I think that's where all the bigwigs go. Like all investments that I think of doing I bottle it and don't do it, but then only looking at 3 figure amounts so it's no life changing gain or loss.

Anyone else thinking of doing similar?

Btw, Ive not done this before and my knowledge on investments is pretty useless, so what Ive wrote may be complete rubbish.
