I don't know much about it but everything about it from a small amount of research screams ponzi scheme. Way, way more dodgy than Bitcoin, Ether etc.

The only way to make more coins is by recruiting more people, you can't trade the coins from the looks of things. So the company are setting the price. They have limited it to 8.5 million coins so once all of them have been distributed there is no more money to be made.

I'd advise him to get out as quickly as possible...
