Amazing. So glad we won, but, cricket truly was the winner. Well done both teams.
So near, yet so far.....
…..my little granddaughters are sleeping over. Got up in the middle of the night to check on one, looked at the score & ended up watching for 2 hours. Incredible sport, feel like I could do with that 2 hours sleep at the moment but so glad I was able to witness it.

Great finish to a test match but the umpire missed a clear wide to level the scores
I think Stokes' hubris at wanting a win inside 3 days scuppered England, bowling a follow on with two ancient fast bowlers and one with a crocked knee was asking too much, then having to bat last on a day 5 pitch. Still, a great game and NZ played a blinder.
He said he backed his decision, but he's a smart guy. If they ever end up in a similar situation again early on day 3, I think he will definitely bat.

yep, batting in order takes their win out of the reckoning but brings a draw into it and the current ethos is to reduce the likelihood of a draw. Not sure it applies so much when they were so far ahead at half time but lesson learned I guess. Now when do we smash the Oz?
