..Livingstone has been like a one-man team in the games i’ve witnessed, so getting through last night was a plus. I noticed him watching from the sidelines but I don’t know if his broken thumb will keep him out of finals day.

Lancashire (bottom) play Worcestershire (2nd from bottom) at Southport next week in a crucial county championship match. According to the Lancashire website tickets are only ten quid, five if you go after lunch.Off next week so if the weather's nice could be an enjoyable day.

May try and get there for an afternoon myself if I can, busy at work (in Chester) but live in Southport so Trafalgar Road is very convenient if I can get a day or even a half day off.

Lancashire have signed South African spinner Keshev Maharaja for the remainder of the season. He's played 22 Tests, taking 90 wickets at 27.65, and took 9-129 in an innings against Sri Lanka this year and twelve wickets in the match. Took 17 wickets in South Africa's tour of England last year. He's also scored 7 first class fifties and two hundreds. Looks a good bet.

One thing is certain for me, I'd swap wins in our remaining Championship games for glory in the T20.
With its history, tradition and resources it has Lancashire should always be amongst the elite of the first division.
