Bit of a frustrating day for Lancs I think. After dismissing opener Dent early they struggled to dismiss the Glos tail, only finishing them off just before lunch. They then lost the in form Wells to the 1st ball after lunch and while Jennings played well, Bohannon looked out of touch - solid enough defensively but unable to keep the scoreboard ticking - 34 off 137 balls before he was bowled by a beauty from David Payne. Jennings fell 6 short of a deserved century when he was caught behind, Vilas was trapped lbw for 1, which left Croft to hold things together. He continued his fine season with 49no at the close, while Salt played some lovely shots in his 33no off 32balls, to give the innings some impetus.

Credit to Gloucester's medium-pacers who bowled accurately throughout - the new ball is due early tomorrow and will be crucial to Lancs' hopes of only batting once in the game.

….yep, watched the last hour or so. Hard to see a situation where Lancs bat once.

See if they can get a lead of 50 around tea & have them 4 down at cop. Hard to predict, Gloucs could lead on 1st innings, meaning they leave Lancs with a target.

Salt is very handy coming in at number 6.

….ha, ha, you gave the kiss of death to Salt, him going early this morning. I’ve been watching the last few hours, no real urgency in batting.
Yeah good ball but dozy sort of waft by Salt, plumb lbw. To be fair, Gloucester have bowled well - Payne and Higgins are both good bowlers and I've been impressed by Price.

I'm the original kiss of death. lol A fifty run lead would be handy.
It certainly would but is it worth taking time out of the game to get there? Not sure about Williams' batting but Morley's a number 11, so Wood and Bailey can't take too many risks. There's a case for declaring now, giving them a small lead and, if we can't bowl them out, put the onus on them to set a declaration tomorrow. They are adrift at the bottom so need to try to win. Be unlike Lancs to declare though.

…I did it with Jennings yesterday, I think we’re all the same with Lancs!!

Another bonus point looking unlikely, as @BigMick says, Glous have bowled well. Commentary was saying how the scoring has been about 90 per session throughout the game so it’s been difficult for anybody to accelerate.
