Cricket

Women’s cricket is crap.

I wouldn't watch it either tbh, if compared to men it's definitely a third rate product but that's the same with pretty much all other sports. Generally men are far more muscular, stronger and quicker and therefore everything is faster.

I suppose you should take the comparisons out if it and just treat it separately, but it's just impossible to do that when used to the men's game. Sport is entertainment and generally speaking men's sport is far more entertaining.

For all the equal pay, I find women's tennis awful compared to men's, like quarter of the power and slow motion.

The last female player i enjoyed watching was Justin henin, lovely single backhand.

now they are all the same player, 2 handed back hand. Even the william tiwns, they just were lucky to be born bigger

Tbh I find it unutterably boring and rarely watch more than a few games. Wouldn't have a clue on names, the Williams sisters the last names I even know of nowadays and I know they're retired or well past their best.

Sussex lost by 98 runs to Hampshire, just not good enough in the end. Nick Gubbins,of Hampshire, scored 131 not put and took 4 wickets,MOM definitely.
A bit like Hameed, Gubbins seems to have found a new lease of life since his move. Didn't know he could bowl! Probably a bit of leg spin/filth.

With so many youngsters Sussex are always likely to lose games, even when they play well, as against Lancs, in both the RL Cup and the championship. I know every team is weakened in this competition but they need the experience players to step up when available. Ben Brown lost the captaincy and not selected - seems a bit odd from the outside, but then again Carter looks promising.

Yes it was only his second spell of bowling, total filth!
The effort was there yesterday and if it wasn’t for Gubbins, the score would have been closer. Travis Head has been disappointing for us and some of the other senior pros have not played well. The exception being Ben Brown who has played to his usual standard, while captaining this young team. Carter does look promising but dropped a few yesterday.
Rob Andrew, the Chief Ex,did an interview re Brown last night on Radio Sussex last night. I will have a listen.

The interview was a bit wooly, but the main reason for taking the captaincy off him was that after 5 years of him being captain,a change is needed.Andrew said that with the decision to deliberately play the youngsters a captain who can help develop them is now required. A bit tough on Brown but Sussex have been hit with a suspended deduction for dissent to officials, which may have also had a bearing on the decision.
