Richard Illingworth's hard won position as the worst English umpire on the circuit is seriously under threat.

Umpire Alex Wharf is the new boy on the block and he's been warmly welcomed into the ranks of the totally inept and incompetent. His turning down of the appeal by Moeen for the straightforward right in front, no doubt at all dismissal of Zaman was incompetence if the highest order, pure class from Alex. if it wasn't for DRS that incompetence could have won the game for Pakistan and Alex the man (umpire) of the match.

Surely a test umpire of the future. (Probably is already on this form)

I really need to understand why Malan is in the team at all, never mind batting in the top four, whilst Livingstone is at no7. And where the hell is Phil Salt?

Phil Salt did well but possibly isn't Jason Roy and it would be hard to drop either JayRoy or Buttler (keeper and sub captain too). It has to be remembered Phil Salt wasn't the man in possession but only playing as the whole squad was Covid banned from that series. JayRoy and either Buttler or Bairstow are the openers, therefore he's a standby player at best atm.

Agree on Livingstone looking in prime form and rightly man of the series. Jason Roy rightly man of the match although Adil Rashid also a notable star with the ball.

Batting stars for Pakistan obviously Rizwan but also notably Dawid Malan, it was Malan who all but saw Pakistan home with a long slow and scratchy innings using crucial overs while hardly advancing the scoreboard.

Malan despite officially being the world's best T20 batsman has looked completely out of sorts and has stood out as the biggest liability in England's team this series. With Ben Stokes' amongst other big English stars ready to start in the World Cup Malan's starting place is now seriously under threat.

A world cup batting top 7 of Roy, Buttler, Stokes, Bairstow, Moeen, Morgan, Livingstone looks good to me. Not necessarily in batting order as Liam could easily go a lot higher

Jofra Archer and Rashid the two main bowlers and two from Willey, Woakes, S Curran, T Curran, Jordan, Wood, Mahmood or Parkinson making up the attack (with bits and bobs from Stokes, Moeen and Livingstone as and when). I think Chris Jordan is a nailed on starter too tbh.

Rights is what they were thinking. They invented T20 but didn’t trademark the format and reckon they have missed out on millions of pounds of licensing fees from the IPL/Big Bash etc

I thought Twenty:20 was Martin Crowe's baby?

Anyway it was rubbish.
ECB should have invited the IPL to run a "City" based franchise fronted by Actors & other Celebs with auctions, dancing girls and all the other razzmatazz of the Indian version.
Even the County based twenty:20 is cock because there are no "stars" playing
