Some terrible comments from this so-called England coach Chris Silverwood after the days play. Claiming they picked the correct team, leaving out a spinner was the right thing and he isn't 'embarrassed' by efforts of his players, all while on the verge of a seriously heavy defeat.

Silverdud will prove to be a disastrous appointment imo. No idea how he got the gig in the first place. Don't think he's got the credentials for such a role.

In fact the likes of Woakes, Curran and Moeen are better with the bat than some of this top 7. And they are bowling all rounders.

Where is Chris Woakes by the way? Has he played since he won England that Pakistan series last year? Im really confused how he cant get a game.

They may also need to look at playing both Buttler and Foakes in the top 7 with Foakes taking the gloves.

Going to Australia they need to pick experienced players who can cope with the pressure. If that means picking a slightly unusual side with a couple more all rounders then they should do it. The young batsman coming through dont see to be ready. You can't compete in an Ashes with a top 3 of Sibley Burns and Crawley. Only Burns is really cemented into the team.

I know Bairstow gets a lot of stick, but hes miles better than sone of these.
 
Where the hell are Stokes, Woakes, Buttler, Archer et al?
Is this some kind of experimental lineup from England? Bracey looks like a village team keeper and his batting is pure no.11. There simply have to be better keepers on the county circuit than this lad. I sincerely hope half of this team won’t ever be seen in the Test arena again, but I know they will.

He’s clearly in denial and won’t last long spouting the nonsense he did after stumps last night.
 
As a Kiwi, I am not confident of victory. This is a decent Black Caps team but England rules the cricketing roost, and I am taking nothing for granted

yes Eggs...of course there was an element of false modesty in my post: this NZ team is very good and a terrific bunch of blokes as well. They do our country proud... (most of the time! lol)
