30 overs of dross after Archer and Rashid with wood injured. Overton is quite clearly not Liam Plunkett and then you go into the game knowing root will bowl rather than his bowling being a joker in the pack which shows the balance is off.

The Afghans went 20 odd overs with barely a boundary to rebuild their innings. Other than root, I don't think we've got anyone else with the nous to do that if we lose another quick wicket.
