Thanks, thats the advice I was looking for.
You needed advice for that?
Never shoot yourself in the foot.

Seriously mate, just phone the CRB people up and ask. They'll tell you exactly where you stand. I would imagine the conviction would be considered spent, but it's worth finding out for sure.
And if you've got a spare oz of the righteous stuff (not that filthy weed), remember your brother in DK needs perking up!

I applied for the job now. I said i was an altar boy and stuff.
I dont touch that shizzle anymore. Gave up my life of drugs. Dont touch anything apart from huge amounts of skunk. But im gonna quit soon, just 1 more big hit, just 1 more, honest.
If you do that, dont give your name or anything.
Just say your researching.
Just to get through the day, lid. Tomorrow the sun will be shining. Just one for today.
Oi mate, could you lend me 50p to get the bus, my cat has been run over and I need to get the vets. Please mate.

Nothing major, just a little possesion with intent to supply. But it was a lot, so it went to Crown. I got off Guv!
Yes it does depend on the offence but in cases like stealing, criminal damage etc its 10 years. A jail sentence over a certain number of years is never spent. I'm not sure how many years but something tells me its 4. Could be longer. I've got a criminal record but my last offence of gbh was over 20 years ago and I've never mentioned it when applying for work even though I've been vetted it's never caused a problem or come back to haunt me so I guess its well spent now. Also I think it depends on the type of work your applying for.
Probably the most relevant issue. Any job to do with looking after/working with kids or vulnerable people I reckon you'd have a hard slog after a conviction on drug related offences. The CRB was set up specifically for that.
I would never want to work with kids. No amount of money in the world would ever make me.
