If we ever become truly boss again for a sustained period then it'll be complaints about all the plastic fans...screw the media and embrace everyone you sacrificed your sanity with through all the sh*t years. We know who we are.

Great post. It has taken the thick end of thirty years but hopefully we've come to the end of our post-Heysel malaise. You're spot on, the general perception of Everton is of the plucky underdog. I am absolutely thrilled the manager is not just setting about changing the style of our football, he's changing the way people view the club. I don't want to get giddy but I wonder if we are at the beginning of something really amazing...

{smiles}...when RM was appointed I wrote in this forum...(with this appointment) "Everton is on the cusp of something...something BEAUTIFUL. Your comment reminded me of that...and by the way, you're 100% onto it.

We need a record of names. For proof and stuff.

The media has been frothing and gushing like crazy over Roberto and Barkley and Deulofeu and even McCarthy over the last week.
Every second day there is another Everton news story with quotes from Martinez featuring on every major football news website.
The media is bigging up Everton massively this season. It's very good for our profile.

Roberto identifies himself with English (not Spanish) football now. He is the first true 'crossover' manager. The meteorite has hit and dinosaurs are dead...and Everton is at the forefront of evolution
