If we win the league, the headline will be " Top 6 Clubs All Fail To Win the Title "

It's amazing how much love we're getting. I'm beginning to think we can actually win the damn league.
This in my podcast thread, but this one is must listening: http://meninblazers.buzzsprout.com/
It's unusual in that it's two English guys who live in the US so it's a combo of English/US footie talk. The best part is it is HILARIOUS and Roger Bennett is a scouser and Evertonian, so we always get a ton of attention. The other host is Michael Davies, who is a Chelsea supporter.
Anyway on this week's show, Davies was showering Everton with praise saying we are playing the most beautiful football in the league this year, and he firmly believes we are title contenders.
I feel like I'm in a dream.
cant stand the Southampton love in they are this years aston villa when they had the money/players like young, milner and barry just shows how spending £40 mil a season on transfers has SSN on your side. That's all it comes down to how big a wallet a team has, Villa reigned in the spending and are never talked about same as us and recently Newcastle, footballs become a reality show for the brainless purring over £20 mil price tag players not about what goes on on the field
The media generally just state the obvious and don't look beyond the bare facts most of the time. For example, Arsenal and Liverpool have had relatively easy fixtures to date which has helped them to their positions at the top of the league. This gets no mention in the press. If they slip over the next few games, which is likely, it will no doubt be put across as a dip in form, but may just be what should be expected.
The media also use anything to back up any opinion they may have. On Monday Tony Evans wrote an article in The Times about Everton and the loan market. To back up his point that we are very reliant on loanees (which I wouldn't disagree with too much) he said that our 3 best players last Sunday were Barry, Lukaku and Deulafeu. I didn't think any of these played badly, but they were not our 3 best players on the day. That wouldn't back up Mr Evans' argument, though, so better to print something that is patently wrong.
I do think our overall coverage has been positive this season, but how could it not be given how well we have played? There is still a large amount of "plucky Everton" type guff after some of our games, but things may be improving. Having spent the last 8 years or so telling everyone that we had hit our glass ceiling and could not progress to Top 4 it will be interesting to see how they respond if we make it.

It will only do us good to keep up the positive portrayal of everton in the papers. The one thing that irritates me no end though is the "big six" centric nature of the papers, always focusing on the arse, scum, utd, city, chels and spurs.
We've won as many Championships as City, Chelsea and Spurs combined so who really gives one?
