…..dreadful watching the Sky News piece on the cost of baby formula. Clearly, those with young kids who are really struggling are unable to pay for this. I’m sure some on here can confirm that this is a real problem.

…..dreadful watching the Sky News piece on the cost of baby formula. Clearly, those with young kids who are really struggling are unable to pay for this. I’m sure some on here can confirm that this is a real problem.

We've got twins, they were flying through it but are on to more solids now which is helpful. Not sure exactly, but think the price has gone up 10%-20% over the last 5-6 months for the formula we buy, have been buying in bulk from Amazon to help.

Luckily we have been able to afford it, but it's tough with everything else going up and having to watch the bank balance through the month.

Food won't be coming down in price it's here to stay.

EU policy CAP or Common Agricultural Policy. A system that rewarded farmers for producing food that would either be stockpiled or sold at below cost to developing countries.

A natural consequence was that food in the EU was abundant and cheap - and was very resilient to economic shocks like wars.

Now we're no longer in the EU we're no longer protected and the fact our food prices have risen twice as much as those in any EU country is not a coincidence.

But we're a developing country now.

Yet they feel entirely equipped to say stuff like this.

Culturally we like to kick down that's until too many are on the wrong end of kicking down. Besides we are all supposed to he eating cake at this point.

Ten pound for a jar of instant coffee? I bloody hope not, I pay that much for a kilo of coffee beans
