Hardly a lecture.Ffs I only posted the picture to show how obscene the price hikes are. Didn’t expect a culinary lecture from Lloyd Grossman himself![]()
Funny..."I don't complain about the price of expensive, convenience food." sounds down right condescending from here. It isn't a first either from one of the two 'alright jacks'...Hardly a lecture.
This is a cost of living thread, and the poster you're mocking offered a sensible tip for avoiding the impact of a price hike you correctly identified. That tip might not work for everyone, but it WILL work for some. Convenience food is an absolute money drain for ANY family.
I really don't think your response was warranted.

Well, if the public sector get the pay rises they are demanding then get ready for an explosion of inflation!!Just need @Bruce Wayne to come and put all of our fears at ease. Apparently the 18% increase to my phone and broadband bill, and the 12% increase to our child's nursery fees are only temporary and will come back down. Therefore no need for anyone to require a pay rise....
Think it's a bargaining tool. Meet half way sort of thing. Civil servants have had a 2 percent pay rise this year after zero percent last year and a max of one percent since the banks did everyone over. All other public sector got much more than that but let's not make it a race to the bottom. The powers that be are intent on turning us all against each other so let's not let them win.Well, if the public sector get the pay rises they are demanding then get ready for an explosion of inflation!!
How? Are salaries included in the RPI?Well, if the public sector get the pay rises they are demanding then get ready for an explosion of inflation!!
Are you a single parent working twelve hour shifts ?
Just under 2% at a flat rate of £552 here in NI.Think it's a bargaining tool. Meet half way sort of thing.
