See the one i am looking at has the individual radiator controls. So say if i eant to hest the bedroom in the evening before i got to bed you can isolate that one room to be heated rather than the entire house. It also looks like you can set variable temperatures in all rooms of the house too. I'm thinking it would be a massive saver over the years.
We have a hive, it's great if you have been out all day and don't want to come home to a freezing house, can put a 'boost' on for an hour so when you get home it's nice and warm. We don't have the individual radiator controls, if I remember they were about £40-50 per radiator so opted against it.

Yeah they are £37 in the black friday sale. Expensive but may be worth it in the long run.

Any chance interest rates could come down again?

Man doesn't want to pay 1k a month for a one bed terraced house.
Just spoke to my mortgage advisor now for some info for you. He said yesterday he just seen the first 2 year fixed rate mortgage that is below 5%. 5 year fixed a have been below 5% for a while.

This is good news. Seems to be coming down by 0.2/0.3% every month. Not as dramatic drops like we seen during Covid but it’s looking better than it did 12 months ago.

Those 'Covid' rates were due to a combination of special circumstances and events.
5yrs @ under 5% ??
If I had a mortgage I'd be all over it, the days of 1 or 2% mortgages are unlikely to return *

*Disclaimer; degsy's financial advice it not worth a carrot

Likewise, we're renewing in nine months, and I've spoken to my friend already: @Charro he predicts (hopes) rates will be low 4%, but thinks high 3% is unlikely.
