Having spent a fair bit of my child hood in Spain one massive difference between both the UK and Spain was always how socially active the elderly population was of an evening. Dressing up in their best clothes to meet friends, gather at bars and restaurants or even for strolls around the town and this went on most night of the week. We don't really have that in the UK as much so I'm wondering is Italy the same as Spain when it comes to night time socialising?

Have a read of twitter mate and folk actually stating the death toll today isn't correct and there is some big conspiracy afoot by the Tories.

Sadly this whole pandemic has shown that the loud mouths on social media have the ability in putting unnecessary pressure on the government and their decision making via their voices amplified by a media happy to stir the pot to make a quick buck.

If everyone piped down and let the experts get on with things we would be better for it.

Please take heed of your own advice.

Yes it is....well that’s my experience.....

I haven't an issue with what the Government are doing mate - sure they were slow to prepare but they are doing as best they can.

My angst has been largely with the Media driven hysteria & busybodies on twitter and the like desperate to see folk barricaded in their homes because they think they know better than the experts/Government.

Both Italy and Spain have more inter-generational households iirc so transmission from kids to grandma would presumably be a lot easier.

Same with the French as well.

It is. The Italians have a name for it - passeggiata - a walk after meals to exercise and socialise.

In reality/probability then with a little bit of self control and caution from people, this country really shouldn't be peaking as high/quickly as either Italy or Spain. It's not hard to imagine how easily the virus would of been spread around in the evenings by people not even aware they are sick. Maybe it's too late and we are already past that point but surely the general lack of widespread socialising in this country compared to others should slow things down.

So you're basically saying the fact that we all hate each other might actually be a good thing in the long run?

FA cup final tickets.

However, if you wish to talk medical, which is what I thought you did, that’s why I asked if you believed in private medical health care....
Unlike a lot of people on here I am not one to have a go at you incessantly. However, it is disappointing that you think that it's OK for people to be so concerned about this that they are allowed to pay a large price to get checked because they have a lot of money but are not allowed to worry about feeding their families.
