Cringing so much at that article. The seething hatred for the general public is absolutely palpable. The tone of it is just so authoritative, he is furious that people are allowed to go back to living their lives. Unlucky Christian son, I’ll have a pint on you next time I’m out.

Just for the record here, he's talking about the requirement to keep yourself to yourself when you have Covid, so you seem to be arguing that it's perfectly fine to swan about as normal even if you know you have it. It's handy being able to delete daft statements about him being a "nerd student" as well, isn't it? As you say, cringeworthy.

You think people have actually been sticking to the isolation rules anyway if they’re asymptomatic? People who are actually ill with a virus tend not to swan about as normal anyway because they’re usually quite ill. When I had the flu I didn’t leave my bed for 5 days but it wasn’t because the government told me I had to.

They will stick with them a lot more when it's official guidance to do so because it mandates that employers pay them to do so. Now they've scrapped it, it does away with the need for employers to pay them if they have the virus but are still generally capable of working, so you'll get people coming into work even with the virus because they have to.

Yes. You might not have but the vast majority of people have.

I'd have thought that would be obvious, tbh. Even with the legal restrictions, there were a lot of employers trying to force their staff into work and this is going to make that a lot easier for them to do.
