Because you are doing it for other people and not yourself.Two wrongs don’t make a right.
If the risk is nothing in the first place why take it further.
The vaccines reduce the spread. The less people spread it the less people will die or ger seriously ill. The less that happens the better. That’s it. Even at very low efficacy the impact is meaningful.
This comes down to whether you put yourself first or others.
I got the vaccine and wear a mask because I think of those vulnerable in my family and on a risk and reward basis it’s better to be vaccinated.
The only statements I read from those who don’t want the vaccine tend to be ‘why should I put myself at risk’ or ‘why should I make a sacrifice’. Which is fine but not how I’ve approached this at all.
