Had a relative test positive for COVID (non symptomatic so fine) today and I checked the government website to work out who needs to isolate. Apparently if you're double vaccinated you don't isolate unless you have symptoms or test positive? Surprised me that you can still go about your day if your partner has COVID.

Really sensible approach imo and one that will likely help reduce other disease outbreaks in schools that not onky impact the kids but also transmit to the wider community.

The UK reported 41 deaths yesterday (using the positive test within 28 days metric).

NZ have had 44 deaths from COVID in the entire pandemic.

Why (like the media) are you misrepresenting the facts of the case?

Rittenhouse didn’t go to a protest and simply decide to shoot people but was playing cop guarding small businesses and his own community against rioters and organized criminals while the police themselves did not.

You can go and read the trial transcript or watch the trial yourself online. Rittenhouse was not guilty which is why he was found not guilty, though he probably wouldn’t have been found not guilty had there not been video (which I presume you have not watched?) evidence proving he was not guilty!

There are videos of one of the guys he shot pointing a gun (an illegal gun in his case) at Rittenhouse, and testimony of this man admitting this, this man himself a criminal with a long record like many of the rioters.

Why do you suppose Rittenhouse was found not guilty? Because the judge and entire jury were all also white supremacists (and I'm the conspiracy theorist)?

The entire case was a politicised witchhunt which were it not for the incident itself being caught on camera could have seen an innocent man sentenced to life in prison. And this for people like you would have been a good and righteous thing!

Why not actually back up your snarky comments with something substantial, say some actual evidence to support what you are saying?

Well because if the prosecution/media couldn't (despite their lies and resources) then I very much doubt that you can!

And why wouldn't the Rittenhouse case have any relevance to COVID when everything most people know about COVID is coming through the filter of the mainstream media?

Isn't it important that we can trust the media, especially when it comes to vaccine mandates and lockdowns, etc.? Ah well, they bullsh*tted us about that one, and that one, and that one, but I'm sure we can trust them this time!

And why would I have been banned even once? I have expressed my opinions politely, whereas it is you, and others like you, whose one and only method of debating someone you disagree with is to try and ridicule or bully the person you are speaking to!

Also only about 6% of Omicron genomes submitted to Gisaid database are BA.2 so, at least atm, it doesn’t seem like it will throw figures off too much.

PCR tests have been proven to have false positive / negative results anyway. Or even results faked using fruit!

They aren't the most reliable to begin with. So eventually their limitations would come to light. As long as the proper tests still detect it then that's fine.
