Reading her Twitter shows that just taking that tweet in isolation is an unfair reflection.

She wasn’t herself saying “vaccines make you impotent”, it was an anecdote. Someone she knows used it as a reason for not getting the vaccine which is irresponsible. At the end of the tweet she encourages people to make a decision that they feel comfortable with, I don’t see how that makes her a vacuous brain dead bell or whatever.

And it’s the kind of exaggerated insults and slating that polarises people with different opinions.

If somebody is wrong, calling them brain dead or thick doesn’t tend to change their viewpoint, in my experience.

Im not really arsed about the replies from unrelated people. If somebody is saying that vaccinations without issue are the norm and recommending people should get vaccines, I don’t think it’s fair to take one anecdote as evidence that they are acting irresponsibly.

She's already acting irresponsibly. That Tweet is from yesterday, September 13. The vaccine has been available to everyone in this country18+ since the last week of March. She says she's sure she'll be vaccinated (presumably forcibly, at some future date) because she has to tour. Not saying it's necessarily her duty to be out advocating for the vaccine, but at bare minimum she's clearly not only unvaxxed herself, but casting some level of doubt on whether others should be as well.

I don’t understand where this expectation has come from that celebrities with a large social media following have an inherent responsibility to research any subject about which they tweet.

We’re not talking about politicians here who have a social responsibility or medical professionals who trade off their employment and who are seen as having a deeper understanding of the subject matter. This is a regular woman who happens to be a very successful rapper, taking about her experience, while telling other people to get vaccinated and do what is best for them.

She has no more of a responsibility than Karen from Wokingham to fact check every tweet she makes.

This is why social media needs to die. People have turned into utter babies, they can't think for themselves, they can't act for themselves and they can't take responsibility for themselves.

Humans have turned themselves into a herd animal. Sheep that need to be led with "influencers" acting as the sheep dogs that run around when their masters whistle.
