It's actually weird, its lockdown but life just goes on as normal. I go to work every day as normal except have to wear a mask and sign in on the QR code, most shops still seem to be open where i live. Just seems to be schools and local sport shutdown.

Personally the worryingly thing for me is we've moved out of our house and into my mothers whilst we've got major renovations going on at our house and only got a few weeks left till its complete so frantically hoping trades aren't stopped. Been here for 10 weeks and got about 4 weeks left till it's finished and can't wait to get the hell out of here lol

Not exactly fun being back at my mothers when I'm nearly 40 ffs lol
Ah so it's kind of what the UK had when we were in Stage 2 I guess, then... bar the schools

And yeah, can imagine that's no fun! What a mess.

Aus did so well, they should be out of doing any of that now.

I’m not sure about terrified. I wear a mask sometimes. I’m not terrified at all. It’s just no bother to me and it seems quite sensible at the moment.

I don’t think you have to assume that people are terrified just because they’ve continued. It’s habitual for some people.
Wearing a mask protects others more than it protects wearer. Don't see the problem in not wanting to harm other people around you. Good for you if you are still wearing. And as Israel is finding out now they hurried into a false dawn and are now having bring back restrictions.

NZ are keeping theirs shut till next year.

probably more like Nov / Dec which isn’t far away, most of the population will be fully vaxxed by then. I envisage we’ll then go to a similar system as the UK currently has - red/amber/green to determine a countries’ risk status from where someone arrives from, they would need to be fully vaccinated and present for a pre-departure negative COVID test, and some level of self-isolation required upon arrival in NZ depending on departure/transit countries.

Spoke to my mate who has a place in Spain earlier.

He had the virus just over a month ago and is completely over it, fit and healthy, tests negative on lateral flow tests.

However what he didn’t know, was that on a PCR test, it can still give a positive result up to 90 days after first catching it.

He flew back from Spain on Monday and tested positive on the PCR test and is now off work / isolating again, even though he hasn’t got it / tested negative on every lateral flow he’s done since and none of his family caught it first time around and haven’t tested positive this time around either, he’s got to lock himself away again.

Madness.

Israel are averaging about 4 deaths a day. Not exactly a false dawn is it. They are another nation thinking zero deaths is possible which is never going to happen.

Footballers and other sports people don't get PCR tests for 3 months after being positive because of this. Matchroom had to get the british boxing board to change their rules due to that issue last summer.

Friend been put on a CPAP in hospital, anyone know much about this

Usually associated with sleep apnoea although they can have other respiratory uses.

First I've heard of application in a case of straight Covid though however he may have specific medical requirements based on his medical history or presentation.

Provides positive air pressure to help keep the lungs open so it's a step more than just needing oxygen with mask/nasal cannula, but less than a ventilator.

They have been used extensively in COVID.
