Is this not essentially sharing state secrets?

Does he think the people are going to start liking him because he's turned on Boris?

Little guttersnipe knob
Its more likely to back fire on him, dont forget the Boris Bounce, sadly people seem to love him

Problem is all the Tory boys backed his lies about his Durham trip so they can’t come back and say he was actually lying all along. They must be stewing.
Oh god yeah it's definitely embarrassing. Still waiting for the smoking gun though - all seems very contrived and wise after the event so far.

Kind of undermines his whole argument doesn't it?

"The PM, COBRA, SAGE and ministers didn't take my concerns seriously"

"Yeah, okay, I did then flounce all the rules I now claim to have pushed for. Then I lied about it on national TV".
Yeah, but everyone knows he's a lying douche bag trying to present himself well here, it's the concrete evidence he may have and leads he may create with his allegations that's of interest.
Just the same as the Dibbles making a few crim's squirm and seeing what falls from the tree as they try to cover their tracks. Maybe it's a shame that his evidence is public before everyone else has squeeled.

It's a mess really. The testimony is interesting in so much as it shines a light on how badly our system of government works, especially in times of crisis, but aside from that, the thrust of his testimony seems to be "This person [insert name here] was incompetent and made bad decisions, then continued to make bad decisions and didn't learn any lessons" - well, yeah, no ****.

Hancock will get the boot and it will all be forgotten about - which will be a huge missed opportunity to sort out 'the state' and how it operates.

I think of all things, the crisis is being exaggerated to justify their pathetic response and desire to control.

They chose to alienate and remove senior civil servants over brexit. They closed down the mothballed pandemic response organisation. They made the incorrect decision that economy and health formed an exclusive disjunct when it came to closing borders and then lockdowns. They privatised the ppe storage. They chose not to work with UK ppe and ventilator suppliers. They chose to insert private companies into the test and trace chain which was shown empirically to be inferior to that done by local authorities. I could go on, but the one and only success, vaccine distribution, was only because they didn't dare put their greedy paws on it, and let the system take care of it.

Fascinating stuff from Cummings today. Proper slippery MF he is though.

Hearing how clueless and incompetent the whole response was, it kinda dispels any idea that the government could organise some sort of complex, mass Covid or vaccine conspiracy as some have been claiming. They’d struggle to organise a handjob in a knocking shop.

I don't quite agree with all of that - I'm almost certain it's more nuanced than that, but fair enough. Ultimately, loads of mistakes have been made and it's important actual lessons are learned from this (both in the UK and globally). You can count the number of western counties who have handled this well throughout on one hand.
