Because the local authority begged central government to have them here. This is a spiv economy. It used to be the docks and a branch plant economy - now it's bars, restaurants, hotels, shops.

It underlines how bad the place is when you understand that the Kopite Chief Medical Officer - the Pound Stretcher Mengele - was begging for these events to happen. Maybe he doesn't think we've seen enough disease and torment here and wants to inflict some more infections and worries on the local population.

The massive 'kin weapon.

I thought you were an academic.

Do some research.

If a delivery driver like me can do it, surely you can.

You'd have a different attitude if you were older and or vulnerable and just tentatively re-emerging blinking into the light again.

I've lost count of the nunber of people contacting me and saying "Did you see that lot down there last night?!?! Why are they doing this? Who gave permission for that?"

These people are (rightly) concerned.

So what that some divvies got to a rave. Because they now go out and see what effect they have on the local community. Great.

The reassuring news is that if they get infected they are supposed to self isolate...which they all will, obvioulsy...

Honest to God, I'd love to punch that Ashton feller's face into a pulp.

Can you count to zero?

So that's the week long Covid19 development programme out of the way in Liverpool. Four events as far as I'm aware (those three disease spreading fiascos over the last 3 nights and the earlier 'business festival' - all sans masks and social distancing).

The next phase of the operation is to send these people back into the community to see how many have been infected over the last week and how many they, in turn, have infected.

Liverpool City Council, Liverpool City Region and the Liverpool Chief Medical Officer put their hands up for this. Be sure that none of the officers of the council or LCR or the CMO will offer their resignations though if this triggers an increase of infections in our districts - every single one of which had Covid19 under up this week with the numbers downward and low.

You've lost me. What isn it I'm supposed to research? It's not immediately obvious. If you're refering to events like the Liverpool Covid19 spreading events just finished then no, there are no other such events around the country. Not ones where social distancing and mask wearing for thousands have been scrapped.

He’s got his own pirate radio phone in I reckon. DJ Dave coming in your ears...
Like a mad basket Alan Besick... Most scoucers of a certain age will get it....

Bizarrely enough he's still going strong and is on radio Merseyside each Sunday night, genuinely it is one of the funniest things you can listen too.

I iron my work clobber for the week to the madness, funny as feck as father Ted would remit

WHY these events are being done.

Its nowt to do with spiv economies or such like bull. Its to learn and/or confirm what the scientists think they know.

A year ago, tracing this thing and its mutations was akin to tracing a robber who left a million different finger prints in your house. Now, they can pin it down to a few dabs.

Thats cos they test test and test again. And at some point they have to have real life studies. Cos real life has to return.

Exactly. There was mandatory LF testing the day before under supervision. PCR tests were taking place on the day of the event, including at the location.

All the individuals provided details and there's going to be a follow up process throughout the next days, with PCR tests expected to take place on day five.

Dave is right that there's a risk, but what we understand (or accept) is that it's a managed risk; we, as a nation, will gain lots of research from these events.

All while there's a process in place to protect the community if there is a surge.

Of course there is a risk. But they know what to look for, and they know what to do now.
