Its been awful for them. Arsed about what went wrong/what they did, they need urgent action from countries less unfortunate.

But the numbers and the size of their population gives one the sense that this story has a long way to its conclusion.
I doubt there will be enough vaccine shots produced world wide this year to vaccinate their whole population. They'll need close to 3 bn. Scary

Forget shops, indoor events or indoor dining, it’s these kinds of idiots that’ll screw us over
Hopefully they’ll be strung and quartered. On the other hand these are less of these around then people going to pubs and restaurants. For all my living days, I’ve never seen a protest in the flesh and I hope it stays that way.

Quite. Its almost impossible to see how such a large, and far flung population could be jabbed, effectively. I mean its one thing to look at the EU/UK vax wars as minor meddling a few months back, but India, to this observer, is nuked, Covid wise.

No idea how it will pan out.

Glimmer of hope in Mumbai with positivity rate dropping
Mumbai reported 5,888 new Covid cases on Saturday evening - a three-week low and a significant drop from the 7,221 it reported on Friday, the 7,410 on Thursday and the 7,684 on Wednesday. This is the lowest daily addition to its caseload since March 31, when 5,394 new cases were detected, and it is the first time since April 12 that the number of new daily cases is below the 7,000-mark.The number of deaths linked to the virus, however, remained roughly the same over the past three days - 71 on Saturday, 72 on Friday and 75 on Thursday.

The city - once the worst-affected in the country - conducted nearly 40,000 Covid tests over a 24-hour period ending this evening. On Friday approximately 42,000 tests were conducted.

The daily positivity rate has dropped to below 15 per cent from the 18 per cent recorded last week.

Hospital figures - 22 deaths were announced today, 3 down on yesterday and 10 down on last Saturday. 20 deaths were in English hospitals, up 1 on yesterday and down 8 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 22.14

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 32 deaths were announced today, down 8 on yesterday and down 3 on last Saturday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 22.43

For the 60 day cut off, 67 deaths were announced today, down 12 on yesterday and down 9 on last Saturday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 50.57

U.K. vaccines...568K delivered yesterday (of which 448K were second doses) ....total first doses 33,508,590.....total second vaccines 12,071,810......giving an overall total of 45,580,400...another good week and one more step to normality.........

Unless we start hitting 700-800k a week cant see that June 21st date happening 1st jabs lagging quite a bit behind.

Good to see no more commercials featuring people’s faces in squares talking to each other on a Teams/Zoom app. That one for Maltesers was the worse.

To me screen grabs and video recordings from those apps, were the most depressing thing about the pandemic when deaths were not thought about.

These commercials ending are a good sign this is over, in the U.K. at least.

TBF businesses and organizations using Teams (or like apps) rather than sending folk to meetings in person is going to be one of the big positives out of this, right up there with increased working from home.
