I must be missing the logic here, but making public transport operate a reduced service seems madness, having to then cram in those who have to go to work into fewer trains. Don’t get it at all.

I’m presuming it’s a combination of staff shortages and the intention is to discourage travel but Some people have to work and exactly as you say it leads to that .

Or people can realise there are other ways of getting around London?

Of course but if you live miles away and Then walking isn’t an option particularly if you then face 8-12 hours of a physical job , buses are cut as well , you don’t have a car and can’t afford a taxi . I feel it’s unfair fi blame those people to be honest .

Not blaming them but I suspect some won't even think of alternatives. Bikes, maybe sharing an Uber which whilst is in close contact is less people in close proximity than the tube etc.

Just wait till they anounce the pubs and bars need to close. The supermarkets will be stripped of booze in a matter of hours.

Pssst... @Eggs has a massive stash of Aussie Whites. Just saying like.

My Sainsburys already has been. Zero ale, some wine, a few spirits. That said, iirc, they have a weekly delivery, not daily, for booze.

That, or Portishead has a serious drinking problem.

I’m a big fan of personal responsibility but a a lot of that for a lot of people just isn’t practical . I’ve got relatives in good jobs in London they can work from home and not just that work has bought them new scanners and printers . If they had to go in they’ve got cars , Uber accounts etc . A lot of people don’t know people who work With them and live on a practical route , feel comfortable cycling in London or have a bike (I’m aware of the schemes ) or any other of a myriad of factors . I’ve seen pictures of a lot of Empty carriages but some on some routes are going to be busy as a direct result of the decisions made .
