Joint statement from the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), the National Association of Head Teachers, Unite, the GMB and Unison representing school support staff, school governors, sixth form and further education college heads.

“We are increasingly concerned that the government is minded to order a full return of all pupils on Monday 8 March in England. This would seem a reckless course of action. It could trigger another spike in Covid infections, prolong the disruption of education, and risk throwing away the hard-won progress made in suppressing the virus over the course of the latest lockdown.”

The group said Johnson should “commit to 8 March only if the scientific evidence is absolutely clear that this is safe, and at that point go no further than a phased return of children and young people with sufficient time to assess the impact before moving to the next phase”.

Saying school reopening would directly affect 10 million students and staff, nearly a fifth of England’s population, the group said: “This is not a small easing of lockdown restrictions. It is a massive step.”

They're going to do it again, aren't they...remove restrictions too early and then we'll be into another catastrophe costing another 100,000 lives and have more lockdowns to try and get on top of it.

Not really - the study wasn't exactly representative (everyone under it was under 65 and a healthcare worker), and "more likely than not" shouldn't really be a basis for a policy decision that affects that many people (edit: not that it was a basis - they decided this nearly two months before this study came out).

I mean, have the Israelis changed their policy based on this research? No.

Im not talking about their decision when they made it. I’m asking you about the current information.

What vaccines do you know of which go from being highly efficacious after 4 weeks to not useful after 12 ?

No, it doesn't. You say "a long time" and then "for some time", which kind of demonstrates that we do not know at what rate the protection from a first dose will decline, how long it will take to decline and so on. I'd have hoped that a government would want to find that out before deciding a policy, but it seems not

We already knew one dose of it would give a decent amount of protection - thats what the first studies found - but how long it lasts is still the unknown.
Didn't the murderer in chief say this week he'd be swayed by data and not dates? Apparently not when it's supplied by Pfizer over vaccine scheduling though.

The man who was appointed to advise the Australian government on Covid said earlier this week that there's some confusion about the meaning of
efficacy rate.

It is the level of the severity of Covid symptoms, and not, and I'm paraphrasing here, the likelihood of immunity.

Several sources here, including him, have said that AZ has been 100% effective in eliminating severe illness and Hospital admissions.

The Chief Medical Officer, Paul Kelly, who stands with the Prime Minister at press conferences said that he is going to have the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

So the CMO of a country who’ve smashed this vaccine is injecting the Gnats Piss ?

Well I never

Not a page on the BBC or sky news about Hancock and the tories funneling money to donors and friends during a globel crisis. To their credit Channel 4 have reported it but then the tories refuse to speak to them. In a just world that chinless horse fukcer would have his career ended and those right wing ghouls would be unelectable for decades
