"We" clearly have different ideas of whats essential.

I go to the supermarket once a day, (once Nikki makes her mind up what she fancies for supper), and the chemist probably every 2 weeks.

Other than occasional petrol visits, and the butcher for rump steak, (see above), thats it.

I totally get why folk with more complicated lives cannot be as minimal as that mind.

I honestly haven't left the house for the last 3 weeks, other than taking my Grandson out to empty spaces for some exercise, which will no doubt trigger some people when I said all the shops were open.

I ain't even going shopping anymore, online all the way till this all blows over.

Case rates have sustained their drop off. Still more to go but whatever this form of lockdown is, combined with the vaccine, it's working.

Just got to carry on and then once we can, lift off the restrictions gradually and never, ever even consider going back under lockdown once this is all over.

Normality should be able to be had and nobody should feel guilty about it. Should be able to go to a gig or a match or an event and not feel scared or bad.

By autumn, COVID-19 genuinely should have been reduced to a bad bug at this rate, with vaccinations and then continuing that into yearly jabs. And 'bad bugs' should not shut down countries.

Its the one thing I cant avoid. Shopping for supper.

Its mad, before she came home, I quietly stock piled loads of stuff I knew she liked. But one side effect of whatever she had, is a complete change in her appetite/taste buds. (yeah, crossed our minds too).

These last few days, her desired afternoon snack are banana sarnies ffs. On line aint gonna deliver a hand of bananas are they?

So I just take extreme care.

Banana buttys are GRIM.

Banana buttys are GRIM.

I know.

I have never seen her eat a banana, let alone have one in a sarnie. I peeled the first one on Tuesday, and I reckon its the first banana I have ever peeled in my life.

It was fresh crab and a dressing the other week. Again, we have never eaten crab, but finding some, post brexit/in pandemic, was an achievement!

Plain chocolate bounty bars the other week. Again, never had them.

J&J said on Friday that in the US and seven other countries, the single-shot vaccine was 66% effective overall at preventing moderate to severe illness, and much more protective – 85% – against the most serious symptoms.

Big take home here for me, is just how problem some different strains might just be.
Get enough people vaccinated and it will reduce the amount of variants.

Im never coming for tea at yours!

Most of the participants in these studies were between 18 and 55 years old. There are not yet enough results in older participants (over 55 years old) to provide a figure for how well the vaccine will work in this group. However, protection is expected, given that an immune response is seen in this age group and based on experience with other vaccines; as there is reliable information on safety in this population, EMA’s scientific experts considered that the vaccine can be used in older adults. More information is expected from ongoing studies, which include a higher proportion of elderly participants.

So...exactly what those charlatans at the MHRA concluded? I guess they're all in on it together right?
You think that statement backs up the UK regulator's judgement?

Lol.
