I would accept a Government being able to effectively put a cross a coherent message on its strategy. Instead we are exposed a Government issuing guidelines which if not adhered too, are punishable by fine, any other English that's legislations and law...

People tolerate when there's a reason to tolerate.
When there isn't, they won't.
Right now, there's thousands of people per day dying, tens of thousands becoming infected, so restrictions are acceptable.
But when that isn't there, there's no longer that acceptance.
I think you're seeing no light at the end of the tunnel due to, as you stated, low mood/depression. I get that, we all feel it, but if you put a logical hat on and look at the situation rationally, you'll come to a different outcome.

Anyway, quick research shows that graph is miles out of date - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-55750831 - it's now 34%.
Quite a few journalists have downplayed the pandemic and the lockdown as being necessary ( Toby Young, Alison Pearson )
