Well China arent responsible for 100k deaths in this country, does that mean you will look at Boris label in the future also?

Cos his says, Murderer.

It’s a bit like the Germans bombing Liverpool but putting the blame on Churchill for not ordering enough bomb shelters. I take your point about incompetence, but at the end of the day there is only one real villain in my mind....

Okay, I can agree there.

The company I work for - we're currently building schools in the Civils department (is that essential, I imagine so?) and then the one other job we have on is drilling out to a windfarm.

There's skeleton staff on site and they're all having to follow strict guidance. Masks at all times. They all already wear overalls and full PPE anyway.

Halfords and the like - that was open in March. There were no issues. People should be allowed to exercise and places like Halfords do repairs on bikes etc. It can all be done click and collect too, so again, no issues with social distancing.

The company I work for (Tier 1 contractor as I’ve mentioned previously) have all sites still open and have done all the way through the pandemic. The Governments safe site operating procedure is what we’re supposed to be working to, but it’s not worth the paper it is written on. You simply cannot social distance on a construction site. Lots of tasks require close working and the canteen / welfare facilities see people practically on top of each other. Masks don’t have to be worn (god knows why).

Now this is interesting.
A lady at works mother took ill and died over Xmas. The lady took time off to deal with things and out of the blue she just sat up in bed the other day, then lay back down and died.
They said she had developed a clot.

Personally I thought she’d just given up on life as she’s had it ridiculously tough this year. Husband left her, he had a stroke and couldn’t move and she took him back to look after him. Like a soap opera and such a sad loss of a cracking lady.

I read the thread under this, how can asymptomatic people have significant damage to their lungs? I know quite a few people who have recovered with very little problems but that thread suggests 80% of covid carriers have damaged lungs?
I was reading that and it's worrying.

Potentially, the real long-term impact of COVID-19 will be in a few years, a decade or longer when respiratory problems emerge in wide parts of the population.

Just as well we have healthy air quality here in the UK while people recuperate , and no chance our government would row back on environmental standards. what sort of ass would do that...

Where in that 10th December article does it show the government rowing back on environmental standards, asking on behalf of those who don’t seek to blame the government for the sun rising everyday......

I’ve had it, I’m in isolation with a lad knows who’s got it, I know about 40 people who have tested positive. No side affect of COVID lung sorry.

Ive been in the gym ok the pads with people who have tested positive with it and just got on of their isolation, there is no way it is as bad as a smokers lung. Sorry but complete pony. Again.

Well it'll be different per-case. And it may well come out in certain cases further down the line.

We don't know that until that time comes.

Nowt we can do about it now, though.

Of course it will be different per case, and in some cases I.e the elder, it will be true as it is with pneumonia.

But it’s an absolutely ridiculous statement, and people are reposting it.

Smokers lung!

Of course mate.

This thing was in Europe in September/October 2019 - they've got evidence of it.

We coincidentally happened to have a very bad flu / pneumonia hit in the UK in Oct/Nov 2019 (deaths were a nominal difference from Oct 2019 to Oct 2020, for example, yet there was a huge gulf from Oct 2018 to Oct 2019.

Make no mistake, COVID-19 has been around, and mutating, for a long time.

Yeah the issue as always is people not looking at it on a case by case basis.

Definitely worth posting in here though. I mean it's the covid thread after all.

This Joe is very much a very very very big reason why the whole system falls apart.

You need each person to isolate if you have symptoms, tell those they've been in contact to do the same, bunker in and hope not to share it.

And unfortunately we still have no real idea why this is so random with who it infects too.

So it's not just a case that people need paying to isolate etc.

The only real hope is a vaccine.

Test, track and trace for the next issue which might come along, yes, but the only solution right now is getting as many vaccinated as is possible.
