It doesn’t matter where you get the jab, ffs we got vaccinations all the time as kids in various scruffy classrooms or halls...

It’s the delays that I think are woeful. I spoke to reception at the GP this morning over another matter and asked what is the process for Covid. She said they would be writing to us and then when we sign and they get it back they then set up an appointment. So there is a minimum of a week wasted just there. We don’t do any of this nonsense for the annual flu jab so why now......

My parents were just written to by the surgery and told the time window they would be jabbed.

Just delaying tactics .Like i said earlier no shortage of places to get jabbed just not enough vaccine.
When theirs enough vaccine i wouldn't have a problem where they give it.
My youngest lad said he'll order it off Amazon and get his nan inject him( she's diabetic ).

He doesn't have a point, why you're disparaging fully qualified pharmacists just because they work in a supermarket is beyond me.

My view was a personal one, would not chance taking him or allowing him to go to a pharmacist whether in a supermarket or not, he has a peanut allergy and the best place for him to greet the vaccine in my view, as a parent is from a hospital, in case of complications. So if that's beyond you, I don't care.

This example underlines exactly why you'd be right to avoid a supermarket and seeking a medical centre first for the vaccine. It's possible to have a relapse after the initial recovery adrenaline shot..by which time you'd be out of Asda and back home.

A pharmacist IS a medical centre.

A pharmacist IS a medical centre.
It's staff wont be keeping patients/customers hanging around hours between adrenaline shots. That's the point. If a reaction occurs in a health provider setting it's highly unlikely they'd be sent packing the moment the reaction had subsided.

It beggars belief I'm having to state that the environment of a supermarket at the height of a pandemic is not a safe environment for a vaccine roll out, and that a pharmacy within it wont be as well stocked and staffed as an orthodox medical facility.

Pretty sure it's a legal requirement to have adrenaline ready to administer, I know it's in similar settings, just not sure about pharmacies. Thing is it will be the pharmacist unless there are putting other professionals in. Was almost riots at our boots with flu vaccine was rolled, people were queuing for 1 hour so just to collect meds while they did the flu clinic.
