Thanks mate, sorry lads might be overthinking a bit but finding it hard to be positive at present. Here's hoping I'm wrong
You’re bound to feel like that mate. It’s a really difficult situation and it *is* scary.

It’s ok to find it hard. If you are worried about stuff stick it in here, there will be loads of people who will be there to provide guidance and advice and support.

Been announced that 44 Poundland stores are going into ‘hibernation’ from tomorrow because of a lack of customer footfall, among the included are the stores in Chester and at Bootle Strand

I know the super variant has caused huge issues but I do find it incredible that the Tories essentially got away without scrutiny for deciding to put London in tier 2.

London is now having huge issues and hospitals are struggling to cope.

Wow people are just not getting it.
My partner is made to go into work, she could easily work from home if the company allowed it.
Fortunate myself our children are of an age where they can look after themselves.

I had a welfare call from my youngest lads Junior school today, seems like they have 150 kids in, which is the equivalent to roughly a third of the full school.

Last time they had around 50.

Makes you wonder what the difference between this time and the last with working from home ?

This was always going to be the most difficult part of the pandemic, i said back in Sep that Oct - March and the seasonality of conditions and Xmas bang in the middle was always going to lead into what we were seeing. March will see relief.

For me governments got way to complacent, the lock down in the UK before Xmas was far to late and many of the restrictions lifted far to early. In Ireland we got the timing right, but then went stumbling into Xmas with reckless and terrifying abandon and we are seeing a nasty third wave.

All this hasn't been helped by the "UK variant", that we could have done without and its highly transmissible nature.

Its hold firm time and take it one the chin, forget about normal life until the clocks change, we are right bang in the middle of flu season and the seasonality of this makes this the most dangerous period in my opinion.

All hope not lost though, the roll out has begun and all governments should aim for a third of their population to be vaccinated by the summer. After the vanguard of healthcare professionals and vulnerable get the jab, the key thing is to get it into the community and reduce transmittable rates, this should all coincide with the end of March.

For me write of Jan - March and then we make a comeback, regress your confidence in this pox, its more virulent then ever and take every precaution you can not just the ones recommended. Jan - March will be the worst and last sting in the tail and the next few weeks some of the most difficult and then we will see the peak and slow reducing.
