Interesting to see Chris Whittys comments today on restrictions next winter as well. I'm quite surprised they are admitting this so early on.

I honestly dont think they'll be able to do it. Once the elderly/vulernable are vaccinated I think if they dont open up you'll have riots on your hands not just from the anti lockdown lot but those losing income/businesses and those generally just fed up.

Im personally happy to be in lockdown until the vulnerable are sorted but after that I'll be annoyed if we are sat here in the summer in tier 3 when there is hardly any bugger in hospital with covid.

masks on public transport / inside shops / at gatherings could be one
While some may disagree, this wouldn’t bother me for the foreseeable future based purely on hopefully reducing the spread of flu et al.

In fact, I have a feeling that the whole concept of willingly people wearing a mask may become far more common in society, which isn’t a bad thing.

Some will certainly adopt it long term, but over the years there will be less and less.

Thats of course provided we can "win this war".

What minor restrictions can there be though? The minimum level is no large gatherings, masks in place, social distancing.

Basically no normality.

Whitty also said this:

He is basically the public doomer- and I don’t mean that in a bad way. He presents worst case scenarios in contrast to the jingoistic, pomp and optimism that Boris has been found to go with.

If you look at what Whitty said today, it would make some people’s head in here explode. He basically said we need to move to a point in society where we live with the virus to a standard of “acceptable risk” and in those circumstances there will have to be an “acceptable level of deaths”. This is the CMO saying this. Not the Torygraph or the pundits at talk radio. It’s the CMO.

Believe me I’m just about done with the suicide fuel of the last few days but what he said today doesn’t seem like much cause for worry right now.

Masks would be a blessing in Pop World.

Thinking about it can you imagine making prolonged eye contact with some mask adorned girl from across the room. You lock eyes. It’s been months of no human contact. The beast inside is raging. You take a swig of your drink and stride across the room. You whisper in her ear, and you go to pull her mask down for your first passionate neck in ages...

And you think... “well it’s been almost 6 months... might as well”

I’m single, incredibly good looking and you expect me to wear a mask long term? That’s a crime in itself. How are the likes of @ForeverBlue92 and myself expected to go out on club necking sprees in this dystopia where we have to wear masks at mass gatherings?

Its been that long since my nostrils got a whiff of another ladies perfume think I'll prematurely ejaculate in me pants the next time I finally get out

Im not. They have been crap. As have enough members of the public to make it worse.

I never got the Covid league table from the get go. And unlike some, I never dismissed it as a hoax or a scam.

We will just have to suck it up, get the vax out asap, keep to the rules, and basically, hope.
Never mind the members of the public. Many of them are daft, but they've been taking their lead from the Tory scum in government. There's no equaivalence in terms of blame between government here and the public. Governments have the ability to enforce behaviour and this one has just encouraged ill-discioline at every stage.
