So in response to a question about what is different in this lockdown versus the first you decide to post a load of businesses that were open first time around.

Seems a bit pointless but hey ho.
Once again, for the hard of learning...

The issue was 'how can this be called "lockdown" when so much is still open?'.

...then I listed many of the businesses and activities unaffected and, therefore, that the "lockdown" is not a lockdown.

You're welcome.

Still too much. Maybe a possibility come Christmas Day but dunno, have to see how things pan out.

Where will you spend Christmas day? Are you avoiding parents and grandparents or just grandparents?

Have you followed the rules for the second lockdown?

Many of those exact same businesses you listed, were also the same opened in March during the first lockdown

In all honesty anything that isn’t a supermarket or for human/animal health purposes should have shut both times, but what do we know

I’ll be spending my lockdown with my mum & step-dad. I have indeed followed the rules as they’re extremely simple to follow. Work, hike, keep away from people.

Vaccine is still rahter late. With 700,000 cases a day and estimated at least twice that many undetected, we are having 2 million+ natural vaccinations a day. We won't get to that level of daily vaccine production any time soon. Then, dare I say, we'll be close to herd immunity before that happens?

I wish.

However, I keep away, I'm in the house and mum gets a hug when I leave but aside from that keep a normal distance.

Not sure where you're digging with this.

So you aren't following the rules then, but seem adamant that everyone else does? I appreciate it's different if you live with them but you don't so just wondered that was all.

Which is what the other feller said; and, as I told him, the point was to underline that there's been no substantial lockdown by cataloguing those places still open.

Absolutely.
