Comparatively speaking, it’s nothing

schools are still open, unis, supermarkets, a lot of people still going into a place of work etc

you’d think the rate would be higher

the fact that it isn’t is good

It is good but it's still 160 people that could have passed it on to other people; not just to those within the city. An antibody test at the same time would have helped. I'd hope more of the city gets tested.

Plus, @Nymzee - this form of lockdown has only been in place six days.

You can test positive for what, 2 weeks, longer?

So, as much as the gov rightly got stick for how it got implemented, that Tier system probably is the way out in the short term, given Liverpool was in T3 for 2 weeks before the latest ‘lockdown’

I'm not sure we can say that for certain when 96% of the city's population (essentially) isn't involved in the round of testing. Obviously some of that 96% will have been tested previously.

It’s all getting done today mate.

He’s made up, as he thinks loads of kids will test positive and the school will get shut lol
How are the school going about it mate?

Did the parents all get a letter advising them what was happening? and are they requesting parental authority for testing to be carried out on the kids? Or are they just going to test them anyway and deal with parental opinion afterwards.?

Well the point is they aren’t passing it on to people from elsewhere unless they have been completely flouting the rules

Liverpool has been in a state of lockdown for a fair few weeks.

It would have helped but unfortunately the antibody test they have (and I know because I’ve done it) isn’t reliable at an individual level either, so there needs to be mass testing of that to achieve the results (and I’m not sure if they yet have the capacity to produce those antibody tests to the demand needed, which is obviously pretty poor)

That's a grand assumption. Only have to watch the videos of the city over the Summer to know the truth.

Not just Liverpool of course.

Agree that more need to be tested but that’s on the public in this instance

those figures are obviously from the other day now so will be changing all the time

it takes 10 minutes and isn’t painful or anything, so people should go and do it

yeah, six months ago?

Liverpool has been in lockdown like the rest of the country now is for a fair few weeks

in theory - I know, that’s not going to be 100% the case - the risk of those 160 people spreading it outside of the city should have been drastically reduced in the last month

I see @YoboCopter has been out with a few mates to protect the children of Liverpool.

2.40 into that - driving with one hand on the wheel and looking out the side window screeching into a megaphone telling kids they dont need to get tested.

The kids face less danger from Covid19 than being mowed down.

All the parents got an email with a consent form attached.

I’d say 90% of the parents have taken it up.
