Massive mistake to not shut the Universities

It's not like there's going to be any jobs in the future anyway

I guess the science/stab in the dark, is that they are generally a self contained facility. That said, many are spread across a city. Bristol Uni has loads of buildings across town, and no actual central bit.

No way this ends in 4 weeks either this.

This will hit some really hard.

They didnt say it will. Its groundhog day. Get it (R) down, pause, pray for a vax, have Christmas, (who really cares?), get through till April.

You sorted panic buying wise?

Won't end until there's a vaccine, last I read the Oxford Vaccine is in stage 3 and NHS staff have been told to prepare for it (to receive it first) early Dec I think?

Also if they don't close the schools the lockdown will achieve naff all anyway.

The most logical thing was you slagging off the scientists in September when they called for a 2 week circuit break.

I dont think lockdown is the right approach at this stage for various reasons which I've given. I dont think there's been much logic to anything put forward recently.

I haven't much faith in government or advisors. At some point we have to get beyond going in and out of lockdown and stopping people and businesses from going to work.

Premier League to continue under lockdown
Asked about the Premier League, the prime minister says football will continue.
Giving a big thumbs up, Mr Johnson says: "Yes to the Premier League".
Matches are currently taking place but with strict rules for players and no live audiences.

More restrictions based upon flawed data. Cases of flu and deaths from flu are so massively down yet for Covid so much higher than over summer? Amazing how we seem at last to have virtually eradicated influenza.

How is this even a thing when 1500 kids are mixing at a secondary school?
