Is it just me or are the Welsh Government acting like complete ends of bells.

Before anyone shouts at me check out the stories about the drive in cinema at the Deva Stadium, Chester anc the other story about stores and supermarkets blocking certain goods from being sold. Seems like the Welsh have gone a little bit bonkers to me.
A line needs to be drawn somewhere, depending on how effective one wants the break to be, whilst it is arbitrary, it's better than pointless restrictions, like Manchester's pre tier rules.

My Mrs works in a supermarket, they’ve been told the reason they are not selling non essential stuff in store is to discourage people browsing for ages, the store would rather you get in, get what you need and get out in the shortest space of time. Might sound stupid to some but if it’s discouraging large groups of people in one place for ages them I’m not totally against it.

No offence mate, but what have people walking up Snowdon got to do with the sale of undees in Tescos ?

Reducing the list of excuses wombles will real out to be out and about, people do lie and often. It will effect work for me often grab stuff for people who can't themselves, probably a letter or something, have one for the police checks as do all Welsh health and social care workers.

Still seems incredibly extreme to me, as it`s punishing the local people and the likes of you with your job, rather than day trippers, plus it`ll just push people towards the likes of Amazon.

All gone a bit mad really hasn’t it.

If my microwave broke today, we could easily get by without one thus it's not essential to ourselves. However, is situation the same for everyone?

If it had been a few years ago, it would have been essential due to having a baby; it could easily be same with a kettle or many other items.

I can appreciate why they (Welsh govt, shops etc.) may be acting in this way, but it's such a grey area legally that they're only making a rod for their own back.

And all the other places with an online presence that would otherwise be pushing to open. Safer eh? Might even work...

You put a baby in a microwave?

Haven't SAGE been advocating a UK wide two week national lockdown? The Welsh government are only 'following the science'. Also makes perfect sense to do it during half term.

That's it people would have come and in their droves

In my part of Wales North Powys if you require ICU care, it's often Wolverhampton or Liverpool, if your happy for us to come and potentially take that bed off family friend or even yourselves reckon your not a very truthful internetter.

It's not perfect but it's bit late in the day to be worried about Amazon and it's appetite to consume the high street, maybe 10 years ago. And in the midst of a Pandemic/ Endemic, just reeks of political opportunism, let's see if Welsh Tories who are backing Welsh independent traders have the same frothing for Amazon after this virus is beaten, I strongly suspect not. What will effect my job more is colleagues contracting this virus now...

Does GOT still get a kickback from Amazon?

My tiny mind cannot grasp why anyone would go to a supermarket just to browse.

A secondhand record shop I get. But Sainsburys? Dont get it.
